Ep.02- TV & Film Cuts

And… That’s a Wrap!

Three years after the community granted millions of tax payer dollars to build a state of the art Media Arts building, the hugely successful and relatively inexpensive Television and Film Programs are eliminated first when MJC falls on hard times.

Particularly in California, the mecca of all entertainment industries on this side of the globe, one would never expect Television and Film Classes to be cut from a school which is trying to attract a wide variety of students, nor would one expect a community college to shut down a successful vocational program which has proven itself an important niche in the community.

This episode shows the final days of a proud community vocational department which was ended in order to eliminate just one, that’s right… ONE, full time tenured instructor. We see the students the program served and the education they were receiving which, once experienced would lead these students onto careers in Hollywood or in the ever growing global initiative which is the social media of the internet.

Please check out additional episodes which focus on individual programs, instructors and students who were collateral damage in these decisions.
