Ep.05- Architecture & Engineering Cuts
MJC goes back to basic remediation as revealed by the fallen programs of higher learning vocations.
The former president of MJC used student success rates as an indication of whether or not a program was worthy of being eliminated. This, as revealed in this episode in particular, is a terrible way of judging the validity of a program to a community and leaves the school with lower expectations from it’s attending students. The community ultimately suffers as people with higher learning in their futures leave elsewhere to places which value their education and do not sell them short in order to teach remediation.
Please check out additional episodes which focus on individual programs, instructors and students who were collateral damage in these decisions.
