Ep. 06 – Industrial Tech & Comm. Graphics

The concept of vocational education is lost on MJC as they ignore industry and remove successful programs.

Despite ample data to support the success of Industrial Technology the school chose to eliminate the program anyhow. This news shocked the community and the area is still trying to make sense of this decision.

Communication graphics provided a particular kind of education unique to the Central Valley, one at which many had traveled from miles around to take part. Despite an expected loss in savings that the associated print shop created and the single instructor that ran the entire department it was eliminated, though the instructor successfully fought to be repositioned in another open position at the school.

Please check out additional episodes which focus on individual programs, instructors and students who were collateral damage in these decisions.
